Bachelor’s Degree in Applied or Life Sciences or related area, including courses in research methodologies and microcomputer systems.

Two to three years progressively more responsible and related experience in the research field.

Experience should demonstrate effective working knowledge of statistics, computer programming and research methodology and an in-depth knowledge of the scientific field in which the research is being conducted.


The Senior Clinical Research Assistant reports to the Manager of the Lifespan Clinical Research Center.

The researchers at Vascular Disease Research Center help develop clinical trials and basic science research and have demonstrated a track record in obtaining funding for these initiatives from the federal government through the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The center also coordinates a number of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) studies and develop ideas in the vascular disease arena into fundable grant applications, either formally with center involvement or informally. We also can serve in this capacity for the medical device or drug industry, helping to plan and execute all aspects of FDA studies

Maintain/develop technical aptitude in the functional operation and maintenance of investigational products and devices under development within the LCRC by attending Sponsor led instructional training, conducting literature reviews on technically similar equipment, and attending conferences to facilitate knowledge-based relationships with domestic and international colleagues.

Maintain regulatory knowledge of FDA requirements/guidelines regarding the development and approval process for NDA and IDE products through self-study tutorials, professional research networks and FDA sanctioned conferences.
