BS in Nursing or other related health care field; Graduate of NLN accredited School of Nursing; Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or in another state that participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact. Membership in National Association of Transplant Coordinators preferred; Transplant certification preferred. Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to the age groups of the population served including knowledge of growth and development, ability to interpret age specific data and response to care, and provide age appropriate communication.

EXPERIENCE: Three to five years medical/surgical nursing experience with transplant or renal experience; Experience in caring for pre- and post-transplant patient; Experience and knowledge of the live and cadaver kidney donation process preferred; Experience with computer programs/databases preferred.

The Clinical Transplant Coordinator is a Registered Nurse. The role of the Clinical Transplant Coordinator is to act as an independent practitioner as well as an essential member of the transplant team. Reporting to the Transplant Manager, responsible for the development, promotion and coordination of a multidisciplinary plan of care from the time of referral for transplantation through the evaluation process, hospitalization and continuing after discharge to assure adequate health maintenance.
