Three years experience in automated, multi-facility health care Customer Service and Collections environment preferred.
Demonstrate awareness of gender, age specific, cultural and spiritual practices of patients, staff and visitors.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Experience must demonstrate thorough knowledge of hospital medical billing and claims processing, effective customer service experience, critical thinking and medical billing. Experience should represent familiarity with UBO4 revenue codes and 1500 billing requirements, coding principles of CPT, ICD-9 coding, HCPCS, revenue codes and related terminology for hospital billing.
Highly developed communication skills, successfully demonstrated in effectively working with a wide variety of people in both individual and team settings.
Ability to excel in communication skills, both oral and written, with all people. Ability to anticipate and understand patient financial needs, document and/or relay patients’ needs to appropriate personnel including physicians. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, their families, visitors, and/or hospital employees. Must possess the ability to combine compassion with strong professional skills
This position supports patient customer service and self-pay receivables for all Lifespan affiliates for both Professional and Hospital Billing. The goal is to ensure excellent service standards and maintain high patient satisfaction by providing a positive patient experience.
