Job Title: Lead Registered Nurse-Diagnostic Imaging

Facility: The Miriam Hospital
Location: Providence, RI
RN with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or in the nurse’s primary state of legal residency if that state is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact.
Conforms to the Code of Professional Nurses. Understands the provisions of the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Rhode Island. Responsible for maintaining a current knowledge of contemporary Professional Nursing practice within the legal framework of the Nurse Practice Act. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) required within 6 months of employment.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Three years’ relevant experience with demonstrated clinical and leadership skills.
Reports to the Clinical Manager of Emergency & Endoscopy Services. Coordinates and provides nursing care and diagnostic and therapeutic services within the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Oversees the daily operation of the Prep & Hold Department. Coordinates patient schedules with the CT, Ultrasound and VIR schedulers on a daily basis. Communicates with the Radiologist, notifying them of changes to their patient schedule. Ensures the highest customer satisfaction. Performs all duties of Staff Nurse. Performs all essential functions with consideration of the age-specific needs of the geriatric, adult, and adolescent patient. Fosters patient and family centered care in accordance with the Lifespan and The Miriam Hospital’s mission, vision, values, with consideration of the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns.
