The level of knowledge of construction, construction design and engineering technology normally acquired in a four year Bachelor's Degree Program and/or a Trade License (plumbing, electrician, stationary engineer or pipefitter) with 18 or more years trades experience.
Technical school training in mechanical, electrical discipline or HVAC control systems with extensive experience will be considered.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

1.Joint Commission survey experience and fully knowledgeable of activities necessary to produce a state of perpetual readiness.
2.Minimum of (15) year’s progressively responsible facility maintenance experience.
3.Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated successful supervisory experience.
4.Experience in establishment of comprehensive preventative maintenance programs.
5.Demonstrated advanced knowledge and skills in the following disciplines: plumbing, HVAC, electrical.
6.Demonstrated ability to organize work and attention to detail.
7.Demonstrated ability to work independently.
8.Demonstrated excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
9.Demonstrated knowledge of budget management.
10.Demonstrated knowledge of personal computer software applications in a business environment, including Microsoft Office.
11.Experience with Maximo facility work order software and Auto-cad.
12.Ability to respond to hospital facility emergency issues as required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week;

Must have a good driving record, meet and maintain the appropriate and valid driver licenses in order to operate motor vehicles as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and in accordance with the Lifespan Fleet Risk Control Policy.


Reports directly to the Director, Facilities Management and working through subordinate
supervisory personnel, manages and coordinates skilled tradesmen in the maintenance, repair, and renovation of hospital buildings, equipment, machinery or systems. As directed, manages capital projects. Oversees the Building Management System (HVAC building control) and facilities work order tracking system.
