Graduate from an accredited Nurse practitioner program with MS degree. Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) to practice in the expanded role. License must include prescriptive privileges. Certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.


Clinical experience as a nurse practitioner for 2 years is preferred with experience in HIV, STDs, and PrEP. Must have patient care services, procedures and privileges approved by the sponsoring physician.

Reports to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the programmatic and research grants. Under the general supervision of the PI, the nurse practitioner is responsible for the development and evaluation of treatment plans and care for outpatients with a focus on sexual health, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). The Nurse Practitioner assists in the care and management of these patients to include, but not limited to: history and physical, ongoing assessment and intervention, and coordination of care for this outpatient population. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patient. The Nurse Practitioner will also participate in, and conduct research, related to the above topics as part of several ongoing NIH-funded studies.
