Location: Providence, RI
For Inpatient Nursing Units Only: Successful completion of Advanced GENESIS Nursing Assistant (AGA) training within the first year of employment with demonstrated competency.
High school graduate or General Equivalent Diploma. Current RI registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant with current certification in Basic Life Support with Healthcare Provider.
Read, write, and speak English; ability to perform basic computer skills.
Ability to identify and report unsafe situations to the Staff Nurse.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
For inpatient positions - one year’s nursing assistant experience, one year’s experience of successful employment at TMH or graduate of stepping up or workforce stat program. For outpatient clinic positions - one year’s experience in a clinic or physician’s office setting. For procedural area positions - one year’s experience in an outpatient procedural setting. OR currently matriculated in a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited Baccalaureate Degree Program in Nursing.
Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, visitors, physicians, and Hospital staff of all levels.
Under the supervision of the Staff Nurse and within Hospital and department policies and procedures, assists in caring for patients and/or families from admission to discharge. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age-specific needs of the patients.
