BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
The Patient Service Representative reports to the Practice Manager, and within Lifespan’s and the practice’s policies and procedures, greets, assists, and directs visitors, patients, and other callers. Interacts with practice staff to appropriately triage all incoming calls.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of multi-line telephone systems, electronic medical record, and computer-based telephone messaging systems.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and sensitivity to cultural diversity in each step of the care process.
- Demonstrated ability to interact with patients, visitors, and all others.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including empathy, compassion, kindness, and patience.
- Three to four months of related experience in a physician’s medical office practice as well as on-the-job training to become familiar with the practice and procedures specific to assigned job duties.
- Proficient in English language, bi-lingual highly desirable.
- Caretracker experience preferred. Familiarity with OBGYN medical office procedures and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
