Job Title: Quality & Safety Manager
Department: Ambulatory Care Administration - 1012400
Facility: Rhode Island Hospital
Location: Providence, RI
Reports to the Director of the Service to achieve divisional quality and safety initiatives and to the Administrative Director of the Center for Practice Excellence for departmental quality and safety initiatives with 24-hour accountability. Collaborates with Nursing Leadership to develop and implement quality programs and processes to achieve departmental goals. Ensures evaluation and review of patient safety systems and programs, unit based quality related education, and policies/procedures development that focus upon quality initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION:
Baccalaureate Degree and Masters Degree in Nursing required.
Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or in another state that participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE
Minimum of three to five years relevant clinical experience with demonstrated leadership, teaching and communication skills. Experience should exhibit an exceptional level of written and oral communication skill.
The ability to conceptualize, develop, and effect quality nursing services with a commitment to continuous quality improvement is essential.
Strong interpersonal/negotiation/mediation skills and demonstrated effective leadership in an environment with culturally diverse needs and abilities of staff.
Maintains clinical competency in order to understand processes and identify barriers to improve the quality of patient care.
Develops and maintains expertise in the field to address questions and provide strategic direction for quality.
