Location: East Providence, RI
Two to three years experience working in business management, accounting, or finance. Grant experience preferred but not required.
1.) Bachelor’s degree in either in business administration, finance/related area OR in research (psychology or related area).
2.) Thorough knowledge of software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Adobe acrobat for PDF creation and manipulation.
3.) Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate policies and procedures.
4.) Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
5.) Excellent analytical skills; demonstrated proficiency in Excel and web-based tools.
6.) Strong accounting skills; knowledge of accounting principles.
7.) Must be able to troubleshoot, problem solve, and take initiative and ownership of tasks as required and requested by department.
8.) Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively AND independently in many fast-paced environments with multiple competing deadlines.
9.) Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects, tasks, and demands under pressure and demonstrated commitment to customer service and willingness to assume increasing responsibilities is also a plus.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.) Will be responsible for providing pre- and post-award sponsored administration support in collaboration with senior department administrator.
2.) Duties will also include helping research and clinical departments during peak proposal submission periods and working with departments, researchers, and Office of Research Administration to facilitate the preparation and submission of major and/or collaboration-intensive grant-funded clinical and/or research programs and projects from sponsors, including private, state, federal, and foundation entities.
3.) When requested by department, may work directly with one or more Principal Investigators to expedite sponsored administrative needs.
4.) If requested, and depending upon availability, the position will aid departments with temporary post-award projects such as budget preparation and award closeouts.
5.) Maintains current knowledge of sponsor requirements, procedures, areas of interest, and research regulation.
6.) Works with ancillary areas such as A/P, HR, and Purchasing to ensure receipt of materials and prompt payment or resolution of any issues.
7.) Send, receive and prioritize mail, packages, and faxes; receive, track and distribute incoming letters and documents; scan and organize documents; print and distribute reports.
8.) Perform other administrative support tasks as needed.
9.) Observes all hospital policies, rules, regulations, and standards.
