Demonstrates via portfolio advanced competency beyond staff level which may include resume, continuing education courses/CEUs, presentations/educational activities, publications, research, program development and awards/recognition. Maintains membership in a professional organization of their specialty area.
Minimum of five years clinical experience as a licensed therapist with advanced clinical, academic and professional currency in the specific therapy field and in specialty areas.
Under the direction of the Clinical Specialist, Clinical Coordinator, or the Clinical Manager of the respective section, the Senior Occupational Therapist will enhance their program or service through the provision of advanced clinical care, knowledge of current research, best practice, staff support, assistance with program operations, and various administrative duties as assigned. Assists with the implementation and coordination of department programs which may include coordination and management of the student program and quality and safety programs. Assists with coordination of inpatient and/or outpatient operations as appropriate to ensure quality and timely service.
The position of Senior Therapist recognizes the therapist with advanced clinical skills and additional responsibilities beyond that of a Staff Therapist. The availability of Senior Therapist positions will reflect the needs or goals of the department.
