Associates Degree in General Studies or equivalent work experience with general familiarity with Clinical Laboratory testing and operations

Basic computer skills in, and knowledge of, word processing and spreadsheet applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Access. Ability to think analytically.


Three years experience including one-year lead or supervisory responsibility.

The Supervisor Specimen Receiving reports to a Pathology Manager. Responsible for the supervision of Specimen Receiving. Provides oversight and follow-up on issues of blood sample collection, test orders, and phlebotomy labeling. Provides information for routine inquiries on status of inpatient and outpatient laboratory work.

Performs all essential functions with consideration of the age-specific needs of the geriatric, adult, and adolescent patient. Fosters patient and family centered care and laboratory services in accordance with the Lifespan and The Miriam Hospital’s mission, vision, values, with consideration of the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns.
