Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology or a related degree/field.

Certified or actively working toward certification by the RI Department of Children, Youth Families as a Juvenile sexual Offender Treatment Provider.

EXPERIENCE:

Between six months to one year of clinical experience preferably in a health or mental health setting with an emphasis on treatment of incarcerated juveniles and/or adult sexual offenders.

Experience working with juvenile correctional faculty as part of a multi-disciplinary team highly desirable.


Experience and training in treating incarcerated adolescents with substance abuse disorders.
Experience with assessment and treatment of incarcerated juvenile and/or adult sexual offenders.

Must have strong organizational, communication and database skills.

Must be experienced and capable of writing appropriate evaluations, treatment notes and court reports.

Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.


Under the general direction of the Director of Psychiatry at the Rhode Island Training School (RITS) evaluates, diagnoses and treats a range of psychosocial problems in the population of incarcerated adolescents at the RITS, with emphasis on the sexual offender and substance abusing population.
