EEG Tech

Summary:
Performs electroencephalographs (EEGs) on persons of all ages both outpatients and inpatients either in the EEG Laboratory or utilizing portable equipment. Performs other related duties as required.

 

Responsibilities:
Operates EEG to record electrical impulses from the brain.



Maintains the EEG laboratory as a smoothly functioning patient service department.



Recognizes priorities of requests and adjusts schedule accordingly.



Records EEGs according to accepted standards and as specified by the electroencephagrapher.



Performs ambulatory EEGs.



Explains test to put patient at ease. Instructs patient on how to relax and cooperate during test.



Monitors and responds appropriately to patient condition during test and summons assistance if needed.



Demonstrates ability to distinguish characteristics caused by brain disorders as well as recognize and eliminate artifacts.



Washes electrode cream from hair and scalp after every test.



Changes linen cleans electrodes and tidies area after each patient.



Provides a safe environment for patients employees and visitors.



Completes face sheet with patient�s vital information and medical history. Writes a brief report for neurologist.

Qualifications:

High school diploma formal EEG training required. Current CPR certification.
