Mail Clerk

Summary:
Assists in the coordinating of centralized copy services and mail distribution within the central services Department. Operates a variety of office equipment and performs a variety of clerical tasks. Keeps accurate record keeping typing and special projects. Possesses organizational and communication skills and is effective in dealing with people.

 

Responsibilities:
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consistently applies the corporate values of respect honesty and fairness and the constant pursuit of excellence in improving the health status of the people of the region through the provision of customer-friendly geographically accessible and high-value services within the environment of a comprehensive integrated academic health system. Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Lifespan Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.



Coordinates the servicing of all equipment through appropriate log of all service calls.



Maintains adequate inventory levels of all supplies necessary for equipment operation and performance.



Sorts and distributes all incoming mail interoffice mail and memoranda.



Stamps and posts all outgoing mail.



Coordinates all outgoing packages and mail designated for Federal Express and maintains appropriate log.



Establishes and maintains files and inventory records.



Maintains adequate inventory levels for various office supplies and printed materials. Issues supplies to departments.

Completes a variety of forms reports correspondence etc. by use of a keyboard or typewriter. The level of typing is that of a proficient typist with accuracy and timeliness required



As requirements develop may perform other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Department.



Observes all hospital policies rules and regulations.

 

Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

High school Diploma with good communication and organizational skills.



EXPERIENCE:

One year related experience with knowledge of office procedures and operations.



Previous experience of operating office equipment preferred.



WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a psychological clinic for children and adolescents environment.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None.
