Mgr Wound Center

Summary:

The Manager Wound Center reports to the Chief Medical Officer of RIH. Plans directs and evaluates provision of patient care services in RIH Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine.  Responsible for clinic policies and procedures program development business and fiscal maintenance and development as well as revenue generation for the center.  Ensures compliance with requirements and standards of pertinent accrediting and credentialing bodies. Supervises staff.  In conjunction with the Medical Director maintains business relationships with participating physicians.

 

Responsibilities:

Program Operations

Ensures development evaluation and updating of Center standards protocols guidelines policies and procedure for Program operations  meeting Hospital standards 

 

Works with hospital administration to develop implement capital and operating budgets for RIH Center for Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine ensuring all goals are attained.

 

Reviews monthly budget reports preparing and submitting variance reports as necessary.

 

Serves on relevant multidisciplinary Hospital Committees.  Collaborates with external agencies payors and other members of the health care team developing and maintaining relationships that maximize success of the Program for the Hospital.

Assures Center compliance with Joint Commission accreditation standards and compliance with other regulatory and accrediting bodies keeping appropriate documents as they relate to equipment maintenance and center activities. 

Works with hospital administration to manage space utilization adequate supplies and services for the Center. 

 

Interviews recommends selection hires and orients develops and evaluates performance of Center staff including recommending salary adjustments and disciplinary action as appropriate.  Plans and arranges for staff participation in appropriate continuing educational activities.

 

Coordinates with the Medical Director to manage business relationships with participating physicians negotiates physician block times monitors physician compliance with protocols policies and procedures.

 

Professional and Community Education

Develops implements and manages a professional and community educational plan and budget utilizing local regional and corporate resources.

Conducts weekly calls to physicians and other potential referral sources including payers post acute facilities and home health agencies.

Develops schedules and conducts presentations and in-services to targeted groups.

Conducts ongoing inter-departmental and hospital marketing activities.

Establishes and manages effective phone inquiry response system.

Develops implements and manages advertising and other promotional program in conjunction with Lifespan and Hospital Marketing and Communications Departments.

Quality Management

Assists as required in conjunction with hospital administration with the development of unit goals and operational objectives.  Recommends and implements procedures to attain established goals and carry out day to day clinic operations.  Monitors and ensures accuracy and completeness of medical records and patient information.  Evaluates effectiveness of operations and recommends changes as appropriate.

Ensures that completed treatments and healing outcomes fall within acceptable parameter of accrediting agencies

Monitors patient experience measures and supports achievement of patient satisfaction targets.

Reimbursement

Ensures billing is done according to standards in conjunction with Patient Financial Services that the necessary charge reconciliation procedures are performed.

Regularly audits random patient bills for accuracy and completeness.

May perform duties of subordinate staff to support the Center’s flow when needed or during staff shortages.

 

Other information:

QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred or BA in Business Management

Minimum five years management experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.

Previous healthcare experience in Program operations with background in personnel; finance; sales and marketing; and/or reimbursement preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:

Demonstrates a high degree of management confidence; including supervisory leadership and motivational skills.

Demonstrates proficient sales and marketing skills.

Possesses excellent communication skills both written and oral.

Possesses effective problem solving and negotiation skills.

Demonstrates basic knowledge of Healthcare reimbursement issues along with basic financial profit and loss knowledge.

Must possess a high degree of organizational and analytical skills.

SUPERVISION:

Supervisory responsibility for up to 10 FTE’s.
