Provide receptionist support for Department of Surgical Services. Greet and direct patients to correct areas of Department. Perform other related duties as required.


Performs reception duties in ASP/PAT greets people and responds to their requests assists with the flow of information between departments.

Answers telephone screens calls takes messages and effectively handles telephone calls as appropriate. Initiates other telephone communication as needed.

Performs patient charting processes:

- Collate Pts� Charts ensure completeness

-Obtain signatures from Pts and/or responsible parties

- Labels Charts

Provides clerical support to other department personnel as directed.

Assists with training of reception duties to department volunteers.


Other information:

High School Graduate.

Excellent personal and telephone reception skills and excellent verbal communication skills.

Computer data entry skills.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit 7-8 hours per day stand squat/kneel 1-3 hours per day walk 3-7 hours per day lift over 50lbs with good mechanics twist/bend infrequently.

Must be able to use both hands /wrists and perform work that deviates from neutral position and be able to perform fine motor skills like pinching.

Must be able to have accurate near and far vision of 20/40 moderate depth perception and discriminate among red green and white.

Must be able to hear a whisper at 8 feet.
