Rehab Services Clinical Coord

Reports to the respective Clinical Manager of Rehabilitation Services sections. Coordinates supervises and develops the inpatient and/or outpatient service to insure quality and timely provision of care to patients throughout their life span from the development stages through the aging process and through the geriatric stage. Provides direct patient care serves as a resource person and assists the Clinical Manager in administrative tasks.


Organizes schedules for the delivery of therapy services assigns staff caseload and delegates responsibilities based on service needs effective use of manpower and resources.
Sets advanced schedules for weekend coverage and burn/wound coverage.
Provides direct clinical supervision to staff and students in his/her area of expertise and/or directs staff to qualified individuals in other areas.
Makes recommendations regarding vacations and other scheduled time off requests.
Assists in coordinating the orientation of new staff members.
Assigns or re-assigns duties during staff absences to assure complete and uninterrupted delivery of therapy services.
Assists the manager in the preparation of performance appraisals and/or conducts performance appraisals.
Attends scheduled meetings with the section manager and director for discussion planning and problem solving issues. Assists in planning implementing and evaluating department goals and programs.
Participates in the monthly Quality Assurance process by reviewing staff evaluations and notes for quality timeliness and adherence to Departmental policy. Recommends Quality Assurance indicators as appropriate.
Regularly provides the clinical therapeutic services of a therapist including evaluations of patients formulation of treatment plans administering treatments and discharge planning. 

Graduate of an approved School in Physical and/or Occupational Therapy.
Bachelor�s Degree or its equivalent.
Licensed to practice in the State of Rhode Island.
Thorough knowledge of theory and techniques of therapy evaluation and treatment.
Supervisory ability to coordinate schedule and evaluate the work of subordinate staff and students.
Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with all levels of the hospital organization patients families and other members of the health care team subordinate staff and outside agencies.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care patients with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

Four years as a therapist with a thorough knowledge of theory and techniques of therapy evaluation and treatment.
Two years of supervisory experience including student supervision.
Maintains proper body mechanics in the execution of his/her duties to insure personal and patient safety.
