Research Project Dir

Summary:
Under general supervision of the Department Supervisor and in accordance with established policies and procedures responsible for the operation of Project including recruitment implementation programs processes and outcome evaluation of the project. Liaison with national cooperative working group as required.

 

Responsibilities:

Continually assesses grant activity to assure compliance with grant requirements assures all required reporting is completed on time.


Assists the Principal Investigator and co-investigator in the Department with protocols intervention plans and recruitment.


Hires trains schedules conducts periodic performance evaluations provides guidance and counsels to assistants and other designated staff to endure high quality recruitment and related data gathering.


Organizes and implements the clinical protocol of the project provides direct services s outlined by the grant criteria.


Travels to evaluate sites or for other grant-related reasons as required.


Monitors monthly expense reports for accuracy and conformance to budget. Addresses variances as required to meet the budget.

Coordinates sub-contracts with affiliated hospitals and universities as may be necessary.


Maintains quality assurance safety environmental and infection control in accordance with established hospital department policies and objectives.


Performs other related duties as required. Fosters patient and family centered care in accordance with the Lifespan mission vision and values and the philosophy of nursing at The Miriam Hospital. Each employee provides service with consideration of the life span including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns.


 

Other information:

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Equivalent to Masters Degree in relevant discipline.


EXPERIENCE:

Three years relevant experience depending on size and complexity of grant including supervisory and budgetary responsibility.


Experience with at-risk populations and community based programs is essential.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Provides direct supervision for up to 10 full-time equivalent personnel assigned to the project.


While most duties are performed in an office environment incumbent is exposed to patient-care environment.


Any risk of exposure to contagious or noxious elements is minimized by adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
