Summary: The Retention and Resource Coordinator is responsible for increasing employment retention for Workforce Development program graduates who are hired at Lifespan. This is a role identifies employee resource needs for their job sustainability and develops strategies to address barriers to employment including job satisfaction and personal challenges. Additionally they will build strong relationships with community resource providers to ensure employee has access to necessities ex. housing safety childcare etc. to reduce turnover. It is imperative that the person assuming this role is proactive in outreach and coordination efforts across all areas of job duties.
Responsibilities: Analyze retention data to identify trends and gather specific information to track and address high attrition across all programs and departments. Follow up with students including visits to departments education partners and regular one to one meetings. Develop preemptive strategies to target barriers and challenges to long term employment. Meet with managers and department leaders weekly. Develop proactive retention plan for each newly hired WFD graduate and track performance during first year of employment. Assist employee with exploring and accessing career pathways/ladders. Conduct outreach to identify implement and maintain opportunities for donations and partnerships through effective interagency programs and relationships. Identify develop and coordinate varied community resources to include housing transportation food childcare medical services and other basic needs. Perform assessments to identify specific needs through one-on-one interviews with students. Work closely with all Program Coordinators to identify student/employee barriers affecting retention respond to specific resource requests from Program Coordinators for student needs and services. Conduct evaluation to assess and evaluate current resources and the need for additional or new resources and services. Document each student encounter. Attend weekly Program Coordinator and all staff meetings.
Other information: Experience and Education Requirements Associate�s degree in human services field or equivalent required. Bachelor�s degree preferred. Experience in case management or service coordination working with underserved communities preferred. Skills Needed Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Case management. Proficient computer skills including MS Office Suite. Database management preferred. Strong understanding of targeted WFD population and barriers to employment success. Knowledge of community-based resources or ability to quickly learn and navigate available community resources. High level of professional writing and communication skills including ability to effectively communicate departmental mission and goals across a broad spectrum of stakeholders.
