Sr Decision Support Analyst

Summary:
The Senior Decision Support Analyst reports to the Manager of Decision Support. Under general direction and within Lifespan policies and procedures functions as a special project net revenue/and or cost analysis. Performs special project reporting net revenue modeling in depth cost accounting system analysis and processes reengineering. Other duties include providing financial expertise for product costing.

 

Responsibilities:
Concentrates on special projects and custom reporting utilizing the Decision Support General Ledger and other financial systems. Coordinates and/or executes the preparation of various Presentations. Other responsibilities include uncompensated care reporting business plans and other projects as assigned.



Coordinates and prepares all special report requests for information ensuring consistency and accuracy with other published reports and financial systems.



Completes special project requests from other financial departments as well as throughout the system related to data requests and troubleshooting of decision support system issues.



Other duties include compilation of the annual consolidated budget and 5 years roll-forward. Assist in the preparation of the operational and capital budget.



Serves as DSS net revenue or cost analyst.

Net revenue analyst - understands contract term revenue concepts modeling auditing and fine tuning current modeling processes. Reviews and reconciles expected revenue modeled by the system to Financial Statements utilizing actual payments. Identifies variances and troubleshoot to resolve issues.

Cost analyst - responsible for RVU assignment and performs in depth system analyses of patient utilization and costs. Troubleshoots costing processes and implements these processes when needed.



Provides training to new users and tests new releases related to system update on a yearly basis.



Develops and maintains a series of diagnostic processes to ensure appropriate integration between external systems such as LifeChart and the general ledger as well as internal databases within the Decision Support System.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

BS/BA in Accounting or Finance is required with demonstrated strong accounting experience.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in a complex automated environment healthcare multi corporation environment focusing on financial system operations and services. Cost accounting system experience is desired. Strong analytical skills required.



Comprehensive knowledge of cost accounting and financial reporting requirements as well as an understanding of the impact that accounting practices have on budgeting reimbursement and cost accounting functions.



Comprehensive knowledge of various financial software such as Microsoft Office Access and Crystal Reporting.



WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a typical office environment requiring extended periods of sitting.
