CT Radiologic Tech

Summary:
Performs CT exams and operates the CT Scanner in addition to performing routine diagnostic radiology procedures. Provides CT services to patients of all ages including: infants children adolescents adults and geriatric patients.

 

Responsibilities:
Performs CT exams on patients of all ages to include:

- Infants

- Children

- Adolescents

- Adults

- Geriatric

Demonstrates ability to perform all types of CT exams based upon established protocols to include but not limited to:

- Head

- Abdomen

- Pelvis

- Sinus

- Neck

- Chest

- Lumbar spine

Completes Contrast Material Questionnaire to identify prior history of contrast reaction.

Demonstrates ability to prep patients start an IV and administer contrast for:

- children

- adolescents

- adults

- geriatric

Demonstrates ability to set up and utilize immobilization devices for:

- infants

- children

- adolescents

- adults

- geriatrics

Sets up and operates Power Injector.

Establishes and selects the proper protocol.

Demonstrates ability to manipulate when necessary the PRE set protocols to fit the Radiologists� requests.

Demonstrates ability to perform special reconstruction and segmentation.

Demonstrates ability to operate Film Laser Camera

Sets up oxygen and suction as needed.

Demonstrates ability to use Teleradiology PACS and RIS systems

Schedules patients and ensures preps are distributed.

Assists radiologists with abscess drainage and needle biopsies.

Demonstrates ability to place service calls.

Demonstrates ability to film exams and create CD�s as requested.

Performs non-routine views as necessary.

Maintains current CPR certification.

Demonstrates ability to perform all daily functions within CT independently without a second Technologist if necessary.

Qualifications:

High school graduation or equivalent required.



ARRT (RCT) registered with current State of RI Radiographer License and current State of Rhode Island Diagnostic Computed Tomography License or ARRT (CT) with current State of Rhode Island Diagnostic Computed Tomography License.



At least 3 months experience performing routine diagnostic radiology or CT exams. Current CPR certification.



Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit 7 or more hours stand/squat 1-3 hours walk 3-7 and lift 10-35 with good body mechanics. Moderate twisting and frequent bending required. Must be able to use both hands and wrists with frequent fine motor movement and moderate repetition. Near vision must be accurate at 20/20 far vision 20/40 and accurate depth perception with minimal color discrimination. Must hear whisper at three feet.
