Outpatient DBT Program Mgr

Summary:

The Outpatient DBT Program Manager reports to the Director of Outpatient Services.  Directs and coordinates all DBT programming
within Outpatient Services and perform associated administrative duties.  Develops and implements of all aspects of DBT
clinical programming (individual/family psychotherapy skill training groups
phone coaching services and staff consultation team) for both the CSTAR
(Comprehensive Stabilization and Treatment for Adolescents at Risk) and Mindful
Teen programs.  Develops and oversees the
implementation of a DBT treatment curriculum for both CSTAR and Mindful
Teen.  Provides a full range of
psychological services including diagnostic intakes individual and family
psychotherapy and group psychotherapy. 
Supervises postdoctoral fellows pre-doctoral interns psychiatry
residents and fellows and Psychology Associates under the direction of the Chief
Psychologist and the Director of Outpatient Services where assigned.  Engages in research focused on program
evaluation in collaboration with trainees and Clinical Staff.

 

Responsibilities:

PRNICIPAL
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:



 



Coordinates DBT intensive outpatient and outpatient levels
of care within outpatient services. 
Activities involve admission intakes consultation teams staff
meetings case conferences and curriculum development meetings.



 



Under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient
Services directs and develops the clinical program in collaboration program staff.



 



Under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient
Services directs expansion of Outpatient DBT treatment programs.



 



Collaborates across disciplines and programs within
the hospital in supporting effective communication and facilitating
outpatient/intensive outpatient DBT treatment.



 



Provides consultation to other programs both within
Bradley Hospital and within the greater Lifespan system regarding the
implementation of DBT treatment as directed.



 



Directs the referral intake and discharge process in
consultation with Clinical Staff.



 



Participates in and coordinates the development and
implementation of treatment protocols and treatment curricula for patients and
their families.



 



Coordinates outpatient and intensive outpatient DBT
treatment and supervises program staff in conjunction with the Director of
Outpatient Services.



 



Provides/supervises family therapy for patients and
their families.



 



Provides/supervises individual psychotherapeutic
services for patients.



 



Provides/supervises group treatment and group therapy
sessions for patients and their families.



 



Provides/supervises diagnostic psychological
assessment for patients.



 



Provides/supervises 24/7 phone consultation and
coaching for patients and their families.



 



Coordinates scheduling and structure of weekly DBT
consultation team and participates in weekly team meetings.



 



Coordinates ongoing education of program staff in DBT
principles and treatment strategies.



 



Coordinates and participates in ongoing program
evaluation research.



 



Prepares submits and maintains all required clinical
reports and records.



 



Participates in Hospital committee meetings as
assigned.



 



Meets specific performance objectives associated with
faculty appointment including assisting in training medical students
psychiatry residents and fellows psychology interns and fellows social work
trainees members and trainees of the Clinical Research Staff.  Prepare research manuscripts for presentation
and publication.



 



Observes and enforces all Hospital policies rules
and regulations.



 



Participates in psychology meetings and fulfills
department specific requirements.



 



Performs other duties as required assigned or
directed to provide maximum benefit and utilization of psychological services
to patients and to the Hospital.

BASIC
KNOWLEDGE:






A doctoral-level Psychologist who meets current
Specialty Guidelines for a Clinical Psychologist as set forth by the American
Psychological Association (including APA-accredited 
doctoral training program and APA-accredited pre-doctoral
internship or equivalent).
  Must have
current licensure to practice as a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Rhode
Island or be eligible for such licensure.
 
Must have completed at least 40 hours of intensive DBT training.



 



Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to
provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes human
development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.



 



EXPERIENCE:



 



At least one to two years of supervised post-doctoral
clinical child fellowship training experience relevant to assigned Hospital
duties.  Previous experience providing
DBT treatment to adolescents or young adults. 
Eligible for faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and
Human Behavior Brown Medical School.



 



SUPERVISION:



 



Functional supervision of psychologists psychological
associates and trainees.  Supervises 1
FTE administrative support position.
