Project Manager - Finance

Summary:

Under general supervision of the Manager of Financial Operations acts as the lead on financial system projects to coordinate all testing and enhancement requests to satisfy programmatic needs and to meet project timelines and target budgets. Works closely with other departments to identify and address additional financial reporting needs and takes the lead on all system upgrades affiliate conversions and systems projects relating to general ledger budget productivity reporting and financial report distribution systems. Assists in creating transparency and accuracy in meeting general ledger reporting needs within the Lifespan system.

 

Responsibilities:

Assist in the management planning and coordination of the annual budget build.

Assist in the development of automated financial reporting and financial analytic dashboards.

Maintain relationships with various departments across finance and operations to understand their requirements for enhanced reporting.

Able to attend high level meetings and actively participate and take a leadership role as appropriate. 

Able to design and develop high level analytics/presentations using various data extracts from a variety of sources/formats.

Able to develop project plans assign milestones and keep track of due dates/deliverables and perform other project management tasks as needed.

Able to design and implement robust test plans regarding system upgrades new software additional functionality.

Maintains and enhances professional expertise and skills through participation in appropriate educational and training seminars related to financial reporting.

Keep on top of industry benchmarking and share innovative solutions with the team.

Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Must have good oral and writing skills and have analytical ability to identify problems gather and utilize data and propose recommendations.

Proven experience building strong relationships with internal and external partners.

Expert skills in Microsoft Access Excel Outlook PowerPoint Teams and Word with strong analysis and spreadsheet capabilities.

Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks/priorities and projects simultaneously.

Needs to come in with a thorough solid working knowledge of general ledger and report writing

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree or above in Accounting

3-5 years of accounting/finance experience

Financial report writing experience required with a demonstrable skill in using Microsoft Powerpoint and Microsoft Excel graphing

Demonstrated understanding of relational databases such as Microsoft Access or SQL and ability to construct and develop new database solutions for departmental needs.

Documented experience leading projects

Position requires strong organizational skills ability to prioritize manage deadlines and redirect and refocus as needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is performed in a typical office environment requiring extended periods of sitting. During on boarding position will be onsite but will then transition to partially remote with a possibility of up to 80% remote depending on current project work.(Note to recruiter � we can be negotiable depending on candidate)

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Performs independently within the department�s policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to the supervisor when clarification of the departmental policies and procedures are required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May direct the work of others on a project basis.
