Sr Content Specialist

Summary:

Under general supervision works independently to plan and produce content for a variety of marketing and communications tactics and channels including websites intranet articles publications and written collateral advertisements brochures digital signage and video messages.

Collaborates with Marketing Communications Officers to fulfill the communications needs of Lifespan and its partners. Supports the Director of Content and Communications.

 

Responsibilities:

Serves as lead on major and complex projects such as the Lifespan annual report leadership videos/town halls service line guides and more. Is responsible for researching writing and editing a variety of communications projects with emphasis on digital intranet and both internal and external collateral material to support Lifespan hospitals service lines and other communications needs.

Creates communications plans speeches and scripts; special purpose publications and articles; content for internal and external websites; print radio outdoor digital and television advertising. With other team members supports system-wide priorities and initiatives through strategic communications.

Maintains regular contact with Marketing Communications Officers to gather news and information about client activities achievements and plans and develops programs based on that information. Interacts with external stakeholder individuals or groups. Shares information gained through such contacts among department coworkers to promote optimal program development.

Participates in projects and researches writes edits and advises on matters of information organization phrasing production management and other work necessary to ensure successful project completion.

Participates as a strategic team contributor in planning reviewing and sharing information related to assigned projects.

Mentors and helps support junior staff in the ongoing management and maintenance of day-to-day activities.

Participates in ongoing professional activities and affiliations to maintain current knowledge of developments in the field of communications.

Participates in various committees task forces and quality improvement teams as needed and represents the department at meetings and interviews as needed.

 

Other information:

QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:

Baccalaureate degree in English journalism or a related field is required. Knowledge of content development across multiple mediums is desirable including web video social media and more.

QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:

Four years or more experience in a staff-level organizational communications position including experience with communications planning publications management writing and editing preferably gained in a health care or higher education environment.
