Sr Project Director - Strategic Ops Implementation

Summary:

Strategic Operations Implementation department supports the organization�s dedication to continuous operational improvement ensuring implementation of its strategies and operational needs. This department is committed to driving large scale change in the organization with an emphasis on user adoption and building the behaviors and competencies needed to advance a culture of continuous improvement with sound project management principles.

Reporting to the VP of Strategic Operation Implementation the Senior Project Director partners with senior leaders to translate their vision into actionable initiatives. The Senior Project Director is responsible for driving the execution of highly complex initiatives including but not limited to designing a project approach governance execution plan and communications model; and coordinating additional support services and project managers to ensure project/portfolio delivery.

Partners with senior leaders to translate vision into actionable initiatives.

Drives execution of highly complex initiatives with the primary goals of ensuring integration and enhancing system and organizational performance.

o Designs project portfolio approach governance and execution

o Facilitates prioritization and decision-making

o Assists team in goal-setting and assessing ROI

o Facilitates development of implementation plan to achieve performance enhancement goals.

o Advises on change management

o Develops communication plan

o Coordinates project management support at portfolio/programmatic level

 

Develops maintains and manages relationships at all levels across the organization.

 

Performs activities with a flexible mindset selecting the appropriate tool(s) and structure for each project/portfolio.

 

Understands stakeholder management from a leader�s perspective and manages risks and barriers accordingly.

 

Balances schedule scope and budget in coordination with key stakeholders.

 

Facilitates collaboration within diverse groups to provide input to strategic planning and execution.

 

Ensures alignment with project objectives and identifies opportunities to increase process efficiencies cost-effectiveness quality and service.

 

Collaborates with finance and other support departments (i.e. data analytics) to ensure the accuracy of targets and validation of metrics both leading and trailing indicators.

 

Consults with leadership regarding analysis observations; provides recommendations regarding project/process improvements.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS � EDUCATION:

Bachelor�s degree required. Master�s degree encouraged. Lean or process improvement training or certification preferred. Project management certification also preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE:

7-10 years of experience in healthcare project/program management or consulting with experience coordinating cross-functional business units and/or multidisciplinary project teams.

Demonstrated mentoring capability and interest.

Extensive change management experience.

Record of accomplishment in the management and senior leadership and experience in project management team coordination with cross-functional business units and/or multidisciplinary project teams.

Possess a functional understanding of financial & other analytics and data.

Experience building business plans and proformas desired.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Up to four (4) senior project managers possible.

Mentorship of Project Managers and Coordinators.

 Provides functional guidance to others who may be assigned on a project basis
