Mgr IS Infrastructure

Summary:
Reporting to the Director of IS Infrastructure manages IS Infrastructure staff and projects to ensure a high value widely accessible comprehensive integrated information network which meets customer needs. The position requires team participation in the management and support of all Lifespan and IS Infrastructure projects to assure a high value widely accessible comprehensive integrated information network which meets customer needs. Participates as a team member in the development and control of all Lifespan Local Area Networks Wide Area Networks and facility infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities:
Interviews hires and assigns subordinate staff; provides guidance and counsel to subordinate staff; conducts periodic performance evaluation; recommends personnel actions; acts as a resource for staff; conducts periodic individual and/or group staff meetings; prepares and submits payroll; provides and maintains subordinate staff development plans; develops standards for subordinate staff performance. Assists in determining the needs structure staffing and systems required to deliver world class IS Architecture and Project management capabilities to all Lifespan affiliates.



Leads in the Development and Management of all Lifespan IS Infrastructure projects and systems and delegates project assignments.

Supervises Infrastructure project management staff



Works with IS infrastructure leadership and staff to develop and document IS architecture standards.



Establishes benchmark criteria and reports on day-to-day monitoring and utilization of all IS Infrastructure equipment including quality improvements and indicators. Recommends and implements actions necessary to meet the service level requirements of the organization.



Provides appropriate training to staff as required. Training programs should be focused provide cross training of functions and geared toward customer satisfaction.



Develops assists and reviews with preparation and monitoring of IS Infrastructure budget.



Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge by attending seminars vendor presentations and reading professional literature.



Participates in councils quality improvement teams and other such committees as required.



Maintains quality assurance safety environmental and infection control in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies procedures and objectives.



Responsible for providing upper management with the following as required: new technology demonstrations and education; feasibility studies; affiliate needs and requirements; project plans; implementation strategies; budgetary and cost analysis; task preparedness; progress reports; documented customer feedback; and quarterly IS Infrastructure review.



Supervises the management of all Lifespan IS Infrastructure projects through all technical stages of design development and implementation. Provides the correct environment and tools needed by staff to evaluate understand and develop acceptable customer perceived systems.



Coordinates all project matters and monitors on a daily basis assigns and delegates tasks as needed. Provides direction and support to project team. Facilitates communication and team building. Acts as a primary interface between LCS IS and the site affiliate project teams.



Implements Lifespan�s operating procedures including communication documentation quality and change control processes.



Performs other duties as assigned.



ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:

- Manages and mentors Project Management staff

- Participates in all departmental goal and strategy development.

- Provides assistance in negotiation and management of contracts with outside vendors.

- Involved in Demonstrations/Presentations and Benchmarks.

- Performs other related duties as required.

Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:

Bachelor�s Degree in computer science business management Engineering or related field. Combination of computer-related technical training and progressively more responsible IS management responsibility may substitute for degree. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Certification preferred.



QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:

Equivalent to Bachelor�s degree in Management or related field required. A combination of Network/Data Telecommunications End User Client-related technical leadership Network training and successively increased Network systems management responsibility may substitute for a degree.



QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:

Five years progressively responsible related work experience including at least two years of related supervisory/management experience in a similar environment.



SUPERVISION:

Supervisory responsibility for up to 25 FTEs of IS Infrastructure staff.
