Project Specialist

Summary:
Provides project management support for enhancements to EPSi (decision support cost accounting system). Designs implements and introduces advanced reporting tools. Works with departments system-wide to develop and implement new modules and companies into EPSi and trains end users on new functionality.

 

Responsibilities:

Works with departments system-wide to develop and implement new modules and companies into EPSi (decision support cost accounting system).


Provides technical and subject matter expertise for building and testing new functionality and training end users. Designs implements and rolls out advanced reporting tools.


Provides project management support for enhancements to EPSi. Creates and maintains project plans and timelines. Identifies schedules and tracks progress of key deliverables to meet deadlines. Manages resources to meet deadlines and provides status updates to management.


Acts as technical liaison for the consolidated budget process.


Coordinates technical and reporting budget functions.


Assists as needed in various financial projects and other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS-EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting or Finance or the equivalent experience is required.

Demonstrated ability to utilize technology to improve process performance.


QUALIFICATIONS-EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in a complex automated healthcare multi corporation environment focusing on financial system operations and services.   Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required.

Comprehensive knowledge of cost accounting and financial reporting requirements as well as an understanding of the impact that accounting practices have on budgeting reimbursement and cost accounting functions.

Thorough working knowledge and experience with web based reporting report distribution and data mining tools.

Comprehensive knowledge of various financial software such as Microsoft Office Access and Crystal Reporting.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

May direct the work of others on a project basis.
