Research Assistant

Summary:

The Research Assistant will work with the Research Scientist and assist in coordinating various research studies. Job responsibility includes but is not limited to literature review search regulatory support Institutional Review Board (IRB) assistance compliance reporting and management of the operations of the research projects. The person will be responsible for providing support in editing of manuscripts grant proposals and other data reports for research projects. The person in this position will gather extensive and complex research information and be responsible for summarizing synthesizing and writing cohesive reports on the research information. The person will ensure quality control organization and follow up are completed efficiently. This position will also provide administrative and data management support. 

 

Responsibilities:

� Assist with preparing manuscripts grant proposals and conference presentations.

� Conduct background literature reviews citation management drafting writing proofreading manuscripts and manuscripts submissions.

� Support research initiatives including data entry and data management.

� Review data results for publication.

� Assist with IRB applications.

� Assist with administrative tasks including coordinating meetings taking meeting minutes documenting of study decisions and communication with all research team members.

� Assist with tracking and reporting study milestones.

� Complete required paperwork and assists in preparing research progress reports on all studies.

� May assist in the co-authorship of scientific publications.

� Performs other related tasks as necessary. 

     

    Other information:

    Education

    Bachelor�s Degree in Applied or Life Sciences or related area including courses in research methodologies.

    Knowledge

      Demonstrates advanced competence with various Microsoft Office software programs such as Word Excel and PowerPoint.

      Valid drivers' license required with current automobile insurance and reliable vehicle.

      Special knowledge/skills:

      � Ability to gather complex information and synthesize summarize information into comprehensive and cohesive reports and other documents.

      � Ability to work independently and interdependently.

      � Attention to detail and thoroughness is critical.
