Master’s degree in Health Science. American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist certification preferred. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required; may obtain within six months of appointment
Registered Nurse preferred.
Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and sensitivity to cultural diversity in each step of the care process.
Four years of experience in Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred.
Experience navigating through many different software and database platforms, troubleshooting problems, and customizing forms. Experience in sequel, and access databases.
The Cardiac Rehab Informatics Specialist reports to the Manager of the Cardiac Rehab Program, and has responsibilities in three areas: Cardiac Rehab Informatics, patient health education and exercise physiology. In collaboration with the IS department, ensures compatibility with rehab databases and platforms with other hospital & departmental computerized systems, troubleshoots application system issues and integrates knowledge about rehab process into the clinical information system. Promotes and implements cardiac and pulmonary educational opportunities to meet the needs of the cardiac and pulmonary patient population and their family members. Under supervision of the program manager and medical director and in accordance with established policies and procedures, evaluates, provides physical assessment and performs all other duties pertaining to an exercise prescription for participants in the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Cardiopulmonary Maintenance Programs.
