The Pediatric Anxiety Research Center (PARC) at Bradley Hospital (located in East Providence, RI and affiliated with the Brown Medical School), is looking for a milieu associate/ research - administrative assistant for a research project concerning obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents.

This unique shared role will work on the administration of current research projects as well as assess, evaluate and provide individualized plan of care as defined under the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Incentive (PCORI) award focused on increasing treatment options for youth with anxiety disorders. The research assistant will work closely with the PI and other investigators to prepare for all stakeholder meetings including scheduling meetings, contacting stakeholders, booking rooms, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and ordering food, and payment of stakeholders. The research assistant will also be responsible for scheduling all home visits for mobile therapists and support activities related to manuscript writing, such as collecting references, as needed. Clinical responsibilities may include screening research participants, administering ratings scales, behavioral coding of exposure treatment sessions, and administering diagnostic interviews to study participants.

Participation in multidisciplinary discussions regarding research design and implementation is expected. Position will include mentorship from psychologists and opportunities to assist in writing scientific articles for publication and grant submissions. A strong academic record is essential and past research experience is desirable. As a member of the research treatment team, Milieu Associate assumes primary milieu therapist role. Responsible for input into the formulation of a therapeutic milieu treatment plan, and the implementation, observation, and documentation of this program. Provides services to children/adolescents.
Frequent travel to research sites in Rhode Island and Mass. may be necessary for one or all positions.

Baccalaureate Degree in a Human Service field preferably in psychology, human biology, neuroscience, or related fields with a career interest in clinical psychology.
Excellent computer and communication (verbal and written) skills.
Past research project experience a plus.
Strong organizational & interpersonal skills a must.
The ability to work well with children and parents.
A willingness to tackle complex tasks in an independent manner.
Current CPR, ERS, OSHA and Safety certification.
Six months to one year of direct child care work with emotionally impaired youth.
Current Bradley Hospital Crisis Management certification or enrollment in Bradley Hospital course.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications.
A strong sense of responsibility towards work.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
