Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island or in the nurse’s primary state of legal residency if that state is a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact. Conforms to the Code of Professional Nurses. Understands the provisions of the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Rhode Island. Responsible for maintaining a current knowledge of contemporary Professional Nursing practice within the legal framework of the Nurse Practice Act. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) required.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages, and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
Two years of cardiac and cardiology experience including one year of telemetry experience required. Experience in diagnostic stress testing preferred.
Under the general supervision of the Lead Cardiology Testing Nurse perform exercise and Holter monitor testing, thallium stress testing, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and Holter monitor scanning; assists with the daily operation of the Stress and Holter Laboratories. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patients.
