Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting or Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance with extensive accounting experience is required.
Three to five years experience in use of financial systems including budgets, financial reporting, and financial data analysis. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting practices and principles. Solid accounting skills required to analyze, reconcile and maintain general ledger, research and other financial systems and applications. Strong analytical ability to develop, conduct, test and document the operation of the financial reporting systems with demonstrated experience in financial and report writing software. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of system operations, information flows, and sound financial practices to provide credibility for the financial reporting system.
Expertise in microcomputer use, spreadsheet and data base management software and applications is required. Demonstrated understanding of relational databases such as Microsoft Access and ability to construct and develop new database solutions for departmental needs. Expertise in use of excel required. Requires ability to learn new systems and applications with limited formal training.
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage deadlines and redirect and refocus as needed.
The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager of Financial Operations. Following generally accepted accounting principles, maintains the accuracy of financial systems including system integration for general ledger, cost accounting and electronic report distribution systems by troubleshooting, analyzing issues and recommending a corrective course of action. Prepares custom analyses and develops new financial reports per department or other customer needs.
